The race for Georgia’s 7th district is one of the top targeted races in the country to strengthen the Democratic majority in the House. After losing the 2018 race for this district by only 500 votes, Carolyn Bourdeaux has a real opportunity: Bourdeaux’s previous opponent, Rep. Rob Woodall, will not seek re-election, making this an open seat in 2020.
Heading into the election, Bourdeaux enters as the favorite. She has also earned key early endorsements, including the late U.S. Rep. John Lewis, U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, Senator Sam Nunn, Ambassador Andrew Young, several members of the Georgia state legislature, and other community leaders.
