Swing Left’s Super State Strategy

Learn more about Swing Left’s 2020 strategy here.

We learned from flipping the Virginia state legislature: Democrats can win in purple states across the country.

Virginia proved that smartly investing our energy, time, and money really makes the difference. By working in the right ways—in the right places—we can win elections that transform governments.

That’s why the Swing Left plan to win in 2020 is hyper-focused on the most important states: the Super States. Check out all 12—including a new addition, Iowa!—on our brand new Super State pages.

Understanding the Super States

Swing Left added Iowa to the map because we’re on the verge of flipping its state House of Representatives; it has one of the most unpopular Republican senators in the country, Joni Ernst; and it has 6 electoral votes that would help Democrats win the White House.

On each Super State page, you’ll see the Swing Left strategy for that specific Super State, and some ways you can help win this state right now. Swing Left is building  this resource, so bookmark the pages and check back soon.

How to Get Involved

Each state now has its own Super State Fund—where you can donate to the most critical elections in that state with just one click. To find it, select a state (above) and locate the Donate/Be a Fundraiser section, or go to our donate page.

When you overlay the target maps to win the White House, the Senate, and the once-in-a-decade chance to control redistricting, you’ll find our 12 Super States. By working here, we can make the greatest impact on 2020’s most important battles at the same time.

2020 will be the fight of our lives. We know the other side isn’t going to play fair—so we’ve got to play smart.
